The Divine Light Within

We say and acknowledge that we were ALL created in the image of God and then we also admit that we were created as “original sin(ers)”. How does that work out anyway? It really doesn’t. The concepts, doctrines, and dogmas of religion in an attempt to explain God, Jesus, and spiritual things have greatly missed the mark. We need to admit that much of our 2,000 year old creeds simply don’t apply to today.  

From his baptism on, Jesus realized that the ground of his being was rooted WITHIN. He heard the voice of his true being (Abba Father Jesus called it) say something like “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased”, and life changed! Jesus became aware of the UNITY he had with the light within. We need to hear that voice- everyday! We are the offspring of the divine: call it King of Kings, Lord of Lords, or whatever you want. The principle is what it is.

There is a divine light within each of us: nurture and embrace it.

Unfortunately, the writers of the New Testament couldn’t understand or perceive what was going on: we barely do today, if at all. They saw his love for this light within (Father), they saw his full acceptance and submission to what he heard from within. Early after the crucifixion of Jesus they began to use LANGUAGE to describe Jesus that they had previously reserved for Yahweh-God. As decades went by that language “about Jesus” was translated into the description of Jesus AS GOD.

Within 400 years of the death of Jesus,  CREEDS had been developed that affirmed Jesus as the second person of the trinity.

When Jesus said, “I and the Father are one”, he was saying something essentially much different than what conclusions they and we have come to today. It’s unfortunate. However, much of the Christian community are (like the prodigal child) making their way back home.
