Of all the poems you have made which is your favorite (post a poem if you want)?
Here is my one
Routine
It’s her everyday routine;
It’s her therapy
It’s her habit and her secret.
First a sip;
Next a gulp
Bottle after bottle.
“I don’t need help
I can do it alone”.
Inside she doubts;
Inside she fears
She could stop,
But she won’t.
Her smile faded;
From genuine emotion
Her pain is authentic and
it won’t disappear.
Demons and voices in her head,
No exit just a dead end.
Something catches her eyes
It has an edge and it’s sharp.
Picks it up;
Aims it to the throat
“Yes, this should do”
Opening her eyes;
The knife falls
She stares at this photograph
Teardrop splashes.
A kiss is planted on its surface.
“This is my solution;
This will be my salvation”
Indeed;
After all she has been blessed with a family.
That’s a really good poem Anouk….but I really loved your poem titled “A lesson For Life”.
I don’t know what my favourite of own is, I have many laying around and it’s hard to go through all of them. I love them all for different reasons, it’s not my favourite, but many people seem to react to “Love In The Forest”.
Entwined in the dark forest of the cold night
Two lovers hold each other in a state of fright
Twisted branches reach out to do them harm
The sky screams as the forest remains calm
In the distance crying can clearly be heard
Yet neither lover dares to utter a single word
They instead focus on each others eyes
Forgetting the world and all of its lies
Embracing in a kiss to last all of the ages
More powerful than any God or any Sages
The wind howling past their bodies so frail
As the sky threatens to explode in storm and hail
When eternity moves on they will remain here
Embraced in a hold that will last from year to year
God and nature can try to tear them away
Yet they shall remain together in the Suns golden ray
